At our heart: employee engagement

We believe engaged, committed employees make for great customer experiences. And we believe that employee engagement comes from an authentic sense that they are valued and respected:

Continuous communication

The more we know, the better we can perform. We’ve woven several formal methods of communication into our culture at Pulse:

Weekly Departmental Staff Meetings. For updates, problem-solving, planning.

Quarterly Communications Meetings. Every manager presents an overview of what’s happening in their department so the entire company is kept up-to-date on developments in sales and marketing, finance, manufacturing, advanced technology, human resources, IT, quality. It’s a chance to ask questions and better understand the long- and short-term vision for the company.

President’s Roundtables. The president, who you’ll see on the manufacturing floor just about every day, also holds a series of Roundtable discussions with five to six employees at a time. Over the course of the year, he meets with everyone in the company. The issues raised during these confidential meetings are presented to management for resolution. We work through them in priority order, doing our best to remove obstacles that keep people from performing at their best.

Employee Surveys. Twice a year, we survey all employees. We take the results seriously; we’re always trying to improve them by addressing the issues that arise. The results are published for everyone to see.

Fast-paced but rewarding

The work that Pulse does is important, sometimes to the point of life or death for a patient. And sometimes time is of the essence. We maintain a fast pace and stringent quality standards. But we try to balance it with camaraderie and a genuine appreciation for the teamwork—and team members—who make success possible.

We make it a practice to promote from within whenever possible, and to help our employees take a career development approach to their work.
